Our Story
What defines Fortis and Haven? Fortis means strength in Latin and Haven means comfort and our mission is: Finding Strength in Comfort.

Let us share a chapter of our book: Meet Ryan, Lindsay, Fletcher, and our little warrior, Rylin (we have since added Aaron to the crew). Right after Thanksgiving in 2019, Rylin was diagnosed with vesicoureteral reflux—a serious condition in which she was graded at 5/5 severity. Her ureters, from kidneys to bladder, were shorter than usual, causing urine to flow backward, leading to kidney and blood infections. Rylin's first year was marked by extended hospital stays and culminated in corrective surgery right after her first birthday.

Picture this: Rylin, at 4 months old, connected to an IV and many other wires, surrounded by monitoring devices for fluids, oxygen, and more for days at a time. The constant need for outfit changes due to frequent vomiting became a challenge. It was in this moment that Lindsay and Ryan recognized the need for a more seamless way to change their daughter without the hassle of all the wires and constant nurse assistance.

Beyond Rylin's struggle, our vision expanded. We observed friends and family facing various illnesses, and the idea grew—there must be a more comfortable and convenient way for both children and adults to find strength during their most difficult times.

We present to you Fortis and Haven. This is an adaptive clothing line that will allow one to be comfortable with easy access to the skin during medical treatment. We hope you or your loved ones can include us as just a sliver of their story as they find strength in comfort during their most vulnerable times.
